6th NE Ga Annual Pottery & Arts Festival - Alto, GA
Folk Art and Pottery: A Perfect Combination!
I always love being invited to Marcia Scroggs' 6th Annual Northeast Georgia Pottery & Arts Festival at her beautiful home in Alto, Georgia. It’ not often you get to do a show about 15 minutes from home, plus being a folk artist at a show that primarily features potters definitely has its advantages!
One of my favorite things about small shows is the camaraderie among the artists and the connections we make with customers—both new and old. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth to look around, and an extra-special thank you to those who purchased art. Your support allows me to keep doing what I love most—creating art and sharing it with others.
There is something especially rewarding about participating in a show close to home. Friends and family can stop by, visit for a while, and share in the experience. It fills my heart with gratitude.
My first customer was a cool guy who is a repeat customer who helped get the day started off right. Needless to say, it's always a joy when Billy and KarreyAnne show up at a show. I love catching up with them and hearing what's new in their world. And how cool is it that my old friends and coworkers, Nokie and Ken showed up to hang out for awhile! And of course, we all love it when Betty arrives! You just know it's going to be a good day when Betty walks into your booth. (IYKYK!)
It's even more amazing when people travel long distances to see me. Back in April, while doing a show in Oxford, Mississippi, I met a guy named Jonathan. Imagine my surprise when he stopped by my booth this weekend after a trip to West Virginia and from visiting Foxfire in Clayton, Ga! What an incredible and unexpected treat.
Thank you again to everyone who made this weekend so special. My heart is full.
